Question is : Am i only imagining things? Needless to say, i find it natural sounding and it doesn't have the harshness of the linear EQ when i boost the top frequencies. Then i tried to replicate the EQ moves with FabFilter Pro-Q 2 with its processing mode set to Natural Phase. If i switch to channel EQ from Linear, i get a duller sounding track like i'm losing some transients and attacks, and again, i don't know for sure if this is the case. I have noticed that Logic's linear EQ tends to sound rather harsh when i boost the top frequencies, but i don't know for sure if this is true. This includes both linear and channel EQs.Īs of late, i've been using FabFilter Pro-Q 2 on certain tracks that i need a 0.1dB precision that channel EQ's can't provide. As i'm only a year and a half into mixing, and haven't developed a pair of well trained ears yet, i've been wondering about my decisions in EQs.Ī little background about my regular mixing process - I usually do my mixes with 90% of logic's stock plugins.
